Softball Falls to Wayne State 1-4 to End Conference Tournament Run

Rochester, Minn. -- The St. Cloud State University softball team took on Wayne State College in their third game at the NSIC Conference Tournament after falling to Minnesota State yesterday afternoon. The Huskies fell to the Wildcats 1-4, putting an end to their 2013 season.
St. Cloud State entered the match-up with a 28-25 overall record, and finished 12-12 in conference action. Wayne State held a 28-15 overall mark this season.
The Wildcats put together four runs on four hits and held the Huskies to just one run in the game.
Seniors Mikayla Hogan (Chippewa Falls) and Kelly Olson (Oak Grove) each finished with two hits in the game. The Huskies lone run came off a solo home run shot hit by center fielder Taylor Thomas (Fontana, Calif.). This was Thomas's second home run of the tournament. Jordan Grell (Moville, Iowa) also finished with a hit in the game.
Overall, the Huskies scored one run on six hits and committed two errors. They would complete their 2013 season with a 28-26 overall record.
