
SCSU Softball to Host Northern State Tuesday, April 22

St. Cloud, Minn. -- The St. Cloud State University softball team has made a few changes to this week's schedule. The Huskies will now be taking on Northern State University in a home series doubleheader at 2 and 4 p.m. tomorrow (Tuesday) evening at Selke Field. St. Cloud State's series against Minnesota Duluth has been postponed.
The Huskies enter Tuesday's series with an 11-25-1 overall record and are 5-14-1 in the NSIC. Northern State sits at 13-25 overall and 6-16 in conference action.
Tuesday's Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) match-up vs. the Wolves will serve as Senior Day for St. Cloud State players Breana Canova (Riverside, Calif.) and Stephanie Roan (St. Charles, Ill.).
Breana Canova has competed in 86 games during her two-year career and has started at second base for the Huskies in 85 of those after transferring from Iowa Western Community College. Canova has collected 76 career hits, 40 RBI's and holds a .950 fielding percentage in the infield during her career. Canova leads the Huskies offensively, posting the highest numbers in batting average, on base percentage, RBI's, doubles and runs scored. She holds a .352 batting average and has collected 20 RBI's this season.
Stephanie Roan has competed in 72 games during her two-year career and has started in all 72 of those. Roan transferred from Kankakee Community College (Illinois) and started in the outfield last year before switching over to third base for the 2014 season. Roan has collected 49 hits, 21 RBI's and holds a .952 fielding percentage during her career at SCSU. Roan leads the team in walks this season.
