Huskies enjoy success at SDSU track and field meet

Brookings, S.D. - The St. Cloud State University track and field teams enjoyed several strong performances at the Jim Emmerich Alumni Invitational on Saturday, Jan 24. Â The indoor meet was hosted by South Dakota State University in Brookings, S.D.
On the men's team, Ryan Johnson paced the Huskies with a first place finish in the weight throw at 60.05.25 (18.42m).  Johnson also placed 14th in the shot put at the meet with a throw of 48-10.25 (14.89m).
In the triple jump, SCSU's Keyshawn Davis scored a third place finish at 45:07.25 (13.90m) and he placed second in the long jump at 23:08.75 (7.23m), which set a new school record.
In the 400-meters, JoVonte Suber posted a third place for the Huskies at 49:34, and SCSU's 4x400 relay team of Suber, Isaiah Pitchford, Marcus Welk and Vernon Wyatt placed fourth at 3:21.27.
On the women's team, Samantha Sunstrom placed 10th in the 3000-meters at 10:23.30, and Stephanie Waletzko charted a 10th place finish in the weight throw at 51:06.25. Â SCSU was led at the meet by Patience Yalartai with a third place finish in the triple jump with a performance of 39-07.75 (12.08m).
