Ryan Johnson Finishes Fourth In Men’s Hammer On First Day of Lyle Hokanson Classic

FARGO, N.D. – Senior Ryan Johnson placed fourth among all competitors in the men's hammer throw on the first day of the Lyle Hokanson Classic on Friday, April 22, on the campus of North Dakota State.
Johnson's throw of 56.17m/184'03" was fourth in the competition, but the top throw among all Division II athletes in the event. Johnson has placed in the top four in the hammer throw for the fourth time in as many competitions this season. The throw was an NCAA provisional qualifying mark, but didn't top his previous provisional mark this season. Fellow senior Eric Johnson had a season-best throw of 36.50m/119.09" to placed 28th in the event.
Senior Heather Clankie also had a season-best throw of 36.33m/119.02" to finished 38th in the women's hammer throw.
The rest of the outdoor track & field programs continue competition on Saturday, April 23, on the second day of Lyle Hokanson Classic.
