Huskies Wrestling National Championship Celebration on Tuesday

St. Cloud, Minn. -- St. Cloud State Athletics will honor the 2015 NCAA Division II National Champion Huskies wrestling team with a celebration event on Tuesday, March 17 at 2 p.m. in the Atwood Center Main Lounge. The public is invited.
Head coach Steve Costanzo, his staff and student-athletes, including the Huskies All-Americans, will be on hand for a short program and highlight video.
The Championship is the first national title for St. Cloud State in any sport. The Huskies posted a team score of 84.5 points while Nebraska Kearney finished second with 76.5 points.Â
St. Cloud State freshman Tim Prescott (McPherson, Kan.) won an individual title at 125 pounds. He posted a 4-0 record on his way to the title and is the first Huskies wrestler since 2013 to win an individual title. He is also the first St. Cloud State wrestler to win a national title at 125 pounds.
All six Huskies that qualified for the NCAA Championship earned All-American honors by finishing in the top eight at their respective weight class.
Sophomore Austin Goergen (Caledonia, Minn.) was the national runner-up at 285 pounds. Juniors Clint Poster (Pierz, Minn.) and Gabe Fogarty placed third. Poster at 157 pounds and Fogarty at 165.
Sophomore Mike Rhone (Benton, Pa) was fifth at 133 pounds and freshman Larry Bomstad (Lake Lillian, Minn.) was seventh at 149 pounds. Bohmstad earned the tournament award for most pins in the least amount of time.
