Huskies roll to 4-0 victory over MSU Moorhead

The St. Cloud State University soccer team (2-1-2, 1-0-2 NSIC) charted a 4-0 victory over NSIC rival Minnesota State University Moorhead (1-1-2, 1-1-0 NSIC) on Sunday, Sept. 20 at Husky Stadium in St. Cloud, Minn. The game featured the most goals scored by the Huskies in a game this season as Naomi Kolhoff paced the squad with two goals in the game.
Rookie forward Maria Kass got the ball rolling for SCSU in the first half with her goal at 30:31 that was assisted by Bailly Drayton. This was Kass' fourth goal of the season for the Huskies.
In the second half, Kolhoff posted her first goal of the day with a marker at 52:11. Teammate Gabby Fleck scored the lone assist on the play that provided SCSU with a 2-0 lead. The Huskies moved their lead to 3-0 when Michelle Cornell scored her first goal of the season at 61:03, which included another helper by Fleck.
To cap the game, Kolhoff scored at 81:47 with the solo assist being credited to freshman Kelli Santo Paulo.
Brittany Plombon was the goalie of record for the Huskies and gained her second consecutive shutout. Plombon now owns a 2-1-2 record this season. In the game, SCSU outshot the Dragons 21-0 and outpaced them with 15-1 corner kicks.
The Huskies will return to action on Sept. 26 with a noon game at home against NSIC rival Winona State.
