Peter Bates Competes in the Heptathlon on Second Day of NSIC Indoor Track and Field Championships

MANKATO, Minn. – Freshman Peter Bates finished 11th overall in the heptathlon on the second day of the NSIC Indoor Track & Field Championships on Monday, Feb. 15, from Myers Fieldhouse.
Bates placed 11th out of 17 competitors during the multi-portion the 2016 NSIC Indoor Track & Field Championships.
His highest finish in any event over the two days of competition was fifth in the 60m hurdles (8.82). He also finished in the top-10 in the 1000m (sixth – 2:52.90), long jump (eighth - 6.25m) and the 60m dash (ninth - 7.48)
The NSIC Indoor Track & Field Championships will continue on Friday and Saturday, February 26-27 in Mankato, Minnesota. The team's next events will be Feb. 19 when the men will compete at the Snowshoe Open on the campus of the University of Minneosta and then on Feb 20 the women are at the Parents Day Open at Minnesota.
