Pairings set for upcoming 2016 NSIC women's tennis championships

Burnsville, Minn. - The pairings for the 2016 NSIC Women's Tennis Tournament are set as the 11-match NSIC schedule has concluded.
St. Cloud State, which placed third in the NSIC regular season standings with a 8-3 league record, has received a #3 seeding for the tournament. Â The Huskies ended their regular season with a 12-8 overall record. Â Augustana, which won the NSIC regular season championship, will be the number one seed in the eight-team single elimination tournament, which will take place on Saturday and Sunday, April 23-24 at the Lifetime Fitness in Minnetonka, Minn.
SCSU will match up against #6 seed Sioux Falls in the first round of the NSIC tournament on April 23 at 11:30 a.m. Â The winner of the SCSU-USF match will then face the winner of the Upper Iowa vs. Bemidji State first round match at 8 a.m. on April 24. Â In the other first round matches, Augustana will face U-Mary at 2 p.m. on April 23 and MSU Moorhead will play Minnesota State at 4:30 p.m. on April 23. Â The championship match is slated to be played at Noon on April 24.
Of note, SCSU gained an 8-1 win against Sioux Falls earlier this season in a home match on April 10.

The winner of the NSIC Women's Tennis Tournament will earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Central Region Tournament. The NCAA Division II Central Region Tournament will take place on campuses on May 7-10. The NCAA DII Championships (Final 16) will take place on May 18-21 in Denver, Colo.  The NCAA women's tennis selections will be announced on Tuesday, May 3, at 7:30 p.m. (CT) at www.NCAA.com.
