Softball Travels To Florida For 2017 Spring Break Trip

ST. CLOUD, Minn. – After playing the first 10 games of the season indoors at the Husky Dome, the St. Cloud State softball team (8-2) gets on the road, outdoors and out of state for the first time this week with a trip to The Spring Games at the National Training Center in Clermont, Fla. from March 7-13.

The Huskies have a total of 11 games over the course of the seven days in the Sunshine State. SCSU plays a pair of games daily, except on Friday (March 10) which is a designated off day and on Monday (March 13) which is a single contest, starting with a 2:30 p.m. game against Trevecca Nazarene University at Legends Way 2 on March 7. St. Cloud State then plays against Lewis University later that same day at 5 p.m. at Legends Way 1 at the National Training Center.

- The Spring Games were founded in 2008 by Dr. Dot Richardson
- The event is held annually at the Legends Way fields at the National Training Center in Clermont, Fla.

- SCSU is 7-7 all-time against Lewis University since first meeting in 1995, 4-0 against University of Findlay since first meeting in 2005, 1-0 against Saint Joseph's College with only meeting being in 1996, 2-4 against Northwood University (MI) since first meeting in 2010, 0-2 against California University of Pennsylvania since first meeting in 2003 and 0-2 against Slippery Rock University since first meeting in 2011.
- The games against Trevecca Nazarene University, Felician University, Assumption College, Philadelphia University and Fairmont State are first-time meetings for the program.
