St. Cloud State falls in overtime thriller against NSIC leader Augustana

The St. Cloud State University soccer team (3-2-4, 2-1-3 NSIC) lost a close 1-0 decision in overtime against NSIC leader Augustana University (7-1-1, 5-0-1 NSIC) on Sunday, Oct. 6 at sunny Husky Stadium in St. Cloud, Minn.
The Huskies and Vikings battled to a scoreless tie through the end of regulation before the Vikings won the match with the game winning goal posted by Grace Behm at 97:59.
The goal broke a classic defensive battle between these two NSIC programs. In the contest, SCSU outshot the Vikings 17-6 and this total included three shots in the OT session for the Huskies. Hannah Marion and Claire Shea led the Huskies with four shots apiece during the match.
In the nets, Zoe Welsh had four saves for SCSU and Augustana's Claudia Pueschner had seven saves in the shutout for AU.
SCSU will continue its 2019 season on Oct. 11 with a 4 p.m. match at MSU Moorhead and on Oct. 13 with a 1 p.m. game at Northern State.
