Munoz Perez and Fitzpatrick win in singles competition
FARGO, N.D. – St. Cloud State Women's Tennis (2-3, 2-3 NSIC) dropped its match to Mary, 5-2 on Saturday afternoon in Fargo, N.D. The Huskies received singles wins from freshman Claudia Munoz Perez (Tarragona, Spain) and senior Samantha Fitzpatrick (Rogers, Minn.) at the No. 5 and 6 positions, respectively.
DOUBLES
The Huskies dropped all three points of the doubles match, falling behind 1-0 in the match with the setbacks. At the No. 1 position, freshman Johana Brower (Sioux Falls, S.D.) and freshman Maria Paz Aoki (Marcos Paz, Argentina) lost in a tiebreaker, 7-6.
SINGLES
In singles competition, Munoz Perez and Fitzpatrick won at the No. 5 and 6 positions, respectively. Both won in straight sets, as Munoz Perez beat Heidi Jacobson, 6-5, 6-2, while Fitzpatrick beat Callie McDonald, 6-4, 6-0.
