Huskies win 7-0 over Cougars, seniors shine
ST. CLOUD, Minn. – St. Cloud State Women's Tennis (8-8, 4-4 NSIC) earned a dominant win on senior day, defeating Minnesota Morris, 7-0, without dropping a single set. Before the match, the Huskies honored their two seniors, senior Samantha Fitzpatrick (Rogers, Minn.) and senior Olivia Fredrickson (Fridley, Minn.)
DOUBLES
The Huskies took the doubles point after wins at all three spots in doubles competition. At the No. 3 spot, Fredrickson and freshman Maria Molitor (Delano, Minn.) earned a decisive 6-0 win over Bebe Say & Marybeth Tautges (MM.
SINGLES
In singles play, the Huskies won each match to take the match, 7-0. Each of the two seniors won on their special day, as Fitzpatrick won at the No. 5 spot over Bebe Say, 6-0, 6-1, while Fredrickson won at the No 6 spot over Marybeth Tautges, 6-0, 6-1.
The Huskies were especially dominant at the No. 2, 3, and 4 spots, recording 6-0, 6-0 victories from junior Shanna Kinny (Litchfield, Minn.), freshman Johana Brower (Sioux Falls, S.D.) and freshman Claudia Munoz Perez (Tarragona, Spain).
