Huskies will host Mavericks on Friday, Mustangs on Sunday
ST. CLOUD, Minn. – St. Cloud State Women's Tennis (9-8, 4-4 NSIC) will close the regular season this weekend with a pair of Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference matches on Friday and Sunday. First, the Huskies will host Minnesota State Mankato on Friday, April 8 at 5:00 p.m. CT, followed by a Sunday match against Southwest Minnesota State on Sunday, April 10 at 1:00 p.m. CT. Both matches will take place at Sta-Fit Tennis Center in Sartell, Minn.
The Huskies are coming off back-to-back 7-0 wins over Minnesota Morris (April 2) and Wisconsin-River Falls (April 3) last weekend. Freshman Maria Paz Aoki (Marcos Paz, Argentina) earned four victories on the weekend, all at the No. 1 position, to lead the Huskies to the victories. In doubles play, with teammate freshman Claudia Munoz Perez (Tarragona, Spain), Paz Aoki won 6-2 and 8-2 in the Huskies' victories. In singles play, Paz Aoki won 6-0, 6-2 over Minnesota Morris' Kiley Rodarmel and Wisconsin River Falls' Kailey Courteau, 6-2, 6-4.
