St. Cloud State Softball Gears Up for Five Games at Husky Dome

Huskies set to play CSP, UWP, & BSU
ST. CLOUD, Minn. - The St. Cloud State softball team gears up to play five games at the Husky Dome March 17-19. The Huskies will face Concordia-St. Paul for a double-header and UW-Parkside and Bemidji State over the weekend.

St. Cloud State will open on March 17 with a double-header against CSP at 2:30 p.m. CT and 4:30 p.m. CT. On Saturday March 18, the Huskies will take on UW-Parkside at 11:00 a.m. CT followed by Bemidji State at 3:00 p.m. CT. SCSU will close on Sunday with an 11:00 a.m. CT tilt against UW-Parkside.

Friday, March 17:
Two athletes earned NSIC honors over the past two weeks for their performance at the Spring Games. Sophomore infielder Maggie Fitzgerald was named NSIC Player of the Week on 2/27 while senior right-handed pitcher Trinity Junker was named NSIC Pitcher of the Week on 3/6. Junker earned her second NSIC honor this season while Fitzgerald earned the honor for the first time in her career.

St. Cloud State Huskies
St. Cloud State enters the weekend 11-9 on the season. The Huskies are coming off a 6-4 campaign at the Springs Games with a notable 1-0 shutout against No. 8 Grand Valley State. Graduate catcher Sydney Trees is the Huskies leading front. Trees is batting .414 with an OBP of .521 while slugging .552. Additionally, Trees has 24 hits, 11 RBIs, five doubles, and one home run on the season. Senior right-handed pitcher Trinity Junker owns a 7-2 record while striking out 67 batters in 56.0 innings pitched with an ERA of 2.41. Additionally, Junker is just four innings away from pitching her 300th inning. Graduate infielder Jasmin Estrada is on record book watch as she is just two RBIs away from tying the all-time career leading RBI record of 161 and three away from surpassing the record.

Concordia-St. Paul Golden Bears
Concordia-St. Paul enters the weekend 10-10. The Golden Bears are coming off a trip from Florida where they went 7-3 over the week. Junior outfielder Clara Heislen is batting .306 owning an OBP of .419 while slugging .694. Heislen has 19 hits, 18 RBIs, six home runs, four doubles, and triple on the season so far. Junior right-handed pitcher Bryanna Olson is 6-5 on the season while striking out 68 batters in 60.1 innings pitched with an ERA of 3.60.

UW-Parkside Rangers
UW-Parkside enters the weekend 9-9. The Rangers are 3-3 in their last six games. Senior outfielder Cassie Rutledge is batting .250 with an OBP of .357 while slugging .396. In addition, Rutledge has 12 hits, seven RBIs, five doubles, and one triple on the season. Sophomore pitcher Olivia Masnica is 9-2 for the Rangers with a 2.26 ERA.

Bemidji State Beavers
Bemidji State will head to St. Cloud 10-8 on the season. The Beavers went 7-3 in the Spring Games during their trip to Florida. Sophomore infielder Mariah Stevenson is batting .353 owning a .441 OBP while slugging .549 for the Beavers. Additionally, Stevenson has 18 hits, 11 RBIs, four doubles, and two home runs on the season. Junior left-handed pitcher Stella Dolan owns a 7-3 mark striking out 42 batters in 59.2 innings with an ERA of 3.05.
