Huskies shutout Glenville State 6-0, defeat Saint Anselm 6-1
CLERMONT, Florida - The St. Cloud State softball team rebounded back, sweeping both teams on the second day of the Spring Games. The Huskies shutout Glenville State 6-0 and took down Saint Anselm 6-1.
GAME ONE: ST. CLOUD STATE (6) VS GLENVILLE STATE (0)
The Huskies struck first after Raven Vanden Langenberg crossed the plate after Holly Weinburger sent a base hit in the first inning. The third inning would be huge for St. Cloud as a beautiful bunt by Lydia Krueger would advance Weinburger while Jasmin Estrada crossed home. St. Cloud would add three more runs to go up 6-0 over the Pioneers. The Huskies defense would be impenetrable as they only gave up four hits with only five runners ever making it on base to shut out Glenville 6-0.
GAME TWO: ST. CLOUD STATE (6) VS SAINT ANSELM (1)
Once again, St. Cloud State went to work right out of the gate. The Huskies added one run in the first inning and two in the second going up 3-0. SCSU would be slowed down for the next three innings unable to advance their runners home, but their defense put a stop to the Hawks as they couldn't gain any ground on the Huskies. Saint Anselm would add one run in the sixth, but it was not enough as the Huskies added three more in the seventh to close out the game 6-1 over the Hawks.

The Huskies will be back tomorrow for two games as they will face No. 8 Grand Valley State and Saginaw Valley State. The two games are to start at 11:30 a.m. EST and 4:30 p.m. EST. FloSoftball will provide the game stream.
