St. Cloud State Softball Readies for Midweek Tilt with Minnesota Crookston

Huskies set to play Golden Eagles at CSB Field
ST. CLOUD, Minn. - The St. Cloud State softball team (21-14, 6-4 NSIC) looks to head outside after playing in a dome for their last ten conference games. The Huskies are set to take on the Minnesota Crookston Golden Eagles (13-20, 1-7 NSIC) for a doubleheader on Wednesday, Apr. 12 on the campus of the College of Saint Benedict in St. Joseph, Minn.

Wednesday's doubleheader is set for 9:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. CT at the CSB Softball Field. The NSIC Network will provide the game stream while live stats are available on the Huskies softball schedule page. Additional coverage will be provided on the Huskies softball social media pages.

A Look Back
The Huskies dropped their series against Minnesota State before rebounding back for a sweep of Concordia-St. Paul. The Huskies fell 7-2 in game one and 5-4 in game two against the Mavericks on the road. St. Cloud State returned home to the Husky Dome taking on CSP where Jasmin Estrada blasted a two-run home run to put the Huskies back on top for the 4-3 victory in game one. SCSU claimed game two with a 10-3 victory over the Golden Bears for the series sweep.

St. Cloud State enters the midweek 21-14 overall, 6-4 in conference play. SCSU sits fifth in the conference standings, two games behind Augustana. The Huskies offense is fourth in the conference slashing .306/.397/.432. Jasmin Estrada is batting .351 with an OBP of .410 while leading the team in slugging (.604), RBI (31), doubles (10), and home runs (6). Sydney Trees is leading in batting average (.373) and OBP (.500). Holly Weinberger is leading in hits (43) while Raven Vanden Langenberg is leading in runs scored (34). Trinity Junker moved to 11-5 over the weekend. Junker has 110 strikeouts in 94.1 innings pitched with a 3.15 ERA.

Minnesota Crookston enters the midweek 13-20 overall, 1-7 in conference play coming in at 14th in the conference standings. UMC dropped their weekend matchups falling to Upper Iowa and Winona State. Senior infielder Alina Avalos is leading the Golden Eagles lineup slashing .424/.470/.674 which ranks her third in the conference. Additionally, Avalos is leading in hits (39), RBI (31), doubles (6), and home runs (5). Junior pitcher Thayda Houser is 6-4 on the season with an ERA of 4.33.
