St. Cloud State Softball Prepares to Host Northern State

Huskies will play NSU at St. Bens
ST. CLOUD, Minn. - The St. Cloud State softball team (23-14, 8-4 NSIC) prepares to host Northern State (12-24, 6-10 NSIC) for a conference double header. The Huskies will host the Wolves on Tuesday, Apr. 18 at the College of Saint Benedict.

Tuesday doubleheader is set for 9:30 a.m. & 11:30 a.m. CT at the CBS Softball Field. The NSIC Network will provide the game stream while live stats will be provided on the Huskies softball schedule page. Additional coverage will be available on the Huskies softball social media pages.

St. Cloud State Huskies
St. Cloud State enters the midweek 23-14 overall, 8-4 in conference play. The Huskies sit fifth in the conference standings. SCSU has the third best offense in the conference slashing .312/.401/.450. Holly Weinberger is leading the Huskies lineup in batting average (.376) and hits (47). Jasmin Estrada leads in RBI (35) and slugging (.672) thanks to 12 doubles and eight home runs on the season. Trinity Junker is 12-5 on the season with four shutouts. Additionally, she has 116 strikeouts in 99.1 innings pitched with a 2.33 ERA.

Northern State Wolves
Northern State enters the midweek 12-24 overall, 6-10 in conference play and 11th in the conference standings. NSU just played Augustana where they were swept 8-7 and 11-0 in the doubleheader. Redshirt sophomore infielder Liv Richardson leads the Wolves in batting average (.333) and OBP (.396) while freshman utility player Kyra Knudtson leads in slugging (.485) with five doubles and three home runs. Additionally, Richardson, Knudtson, and junior infielder Claire Zbylut each have 32 hits. Junior pitcher Lexi Chase owns a 5-10 record on the season with 51 strikeouts over 92.0 innings with a 4.79 ERA.
