St. Cloud State Softball Hits Road to Minnesota State Before Returning Home for Saturday Tilt

Huskies face Mavericks on the road, host CSP on Saturday
ST. CLOUD, Minn. - The St. Cloud State softball team (19-12, 4-2 NSIC) gear up for two conference doubleheaders. The Huskies will travel to Mankato, Minn. to take on the Minnesota State Mavericks (15-11, 4-4 NSIC) on Friday, Apr. 7 before taking on the Concordia-St. Paul Golden Bears Saturday (19-14, 5-3 NSIC), Apr. 8 at the Husky Dome.

Friday's doubleheader is set for 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. CT at the Maverick All-Sports Dome. The NSIC Network will provide the game stream while live stats are available on MNSU softball's schedule page. Saturday's doubleheader will kick off at 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. CT at the Husky Dome. A Look Back
St. Cloud State went 3-1 over the weekend with doubleheaders against UMary and Minot State. The Huskies downed UMary 12-1 in six innings in game one and then hung on 7-5 in game two for a sweep of the Marauders. St. Cloud State had three dominant innings taking down Minot State 20-3 in five innings before struggling to generate offense in game two to fall 3-1.

St. Cloud State enters the mid-week 19-12 overall, 4-2 in conference play. The Huskies currently sit fifth in the conference standing. SCSU's offense is slashing .311/.403/.438 placing them third in the conference. Sydney Trees is slashing a .396/.509/.593 with 36 hits, 20 RBIs, seven doubles, and three home runs. Jasmin Estrada is slashing .385/.443/.635 with 37 hits. Estrada is leading the lineup with 29 RBIs, nine doubles, and five home runs. Raven Vanden Langenberg leads with 30 runs scored and seven stolen bases. Trinity Junker owns a 10-4 record with 102 strikeouts in 84.1 innings pitched with a 2.67 ERA.

Minnesota State enters the weekend 15-11 overall, 4-4 in conference play and sits seventh in the conference standings. MNSU comes off a mid-week sweep of Southwest Minnesota State with a 5-0 victory in game one and 11-3 five inning win in game two. Junior infielder Ellie Tallman is leading the Mavericks in batting average (.385), OBP (.417), and hits (30). Freshman catcher Ava Smithson is slugging .616 with 16 home runs while sophomore infielder Cheyenne Behrends leads in RBI with 20. Junior pitcher McKayla Armbruster owns a 9-6 striking out 88 batters in 87.1 innings with a 1.44 ERA.
Concordia-St. Paul Golden Bears
Concordia-St. Paul enters the weekend 19-14 overall, 5-3 in conference play and sits sixth in the conference. CSP split their mid-week doubleheader with Sioux Falls defeating the Cougars 3-2 before falling 7-5. Junior outfielder Clara Heislen leads the Golden Bears lineup slashing .308/.413/626. Heislen leads the team in hits (33), RBI (25), runs (26), home runs (8), and doubles (8). Junior right-handed pitcher Bryanna Olson owns a 11-8 record striking out 111 batters in 97.1 innings pitched with an ERA of 2.86. Sophomore left-handed pitcher Erica McCullough is 6-3 on the season striking out 43 batters in 73.1 innings pitched with a 2.86 ERA.
