GAME ONE: ST. CLOUD STATE (2) VS MINNESOTA STATE (7)
Minnesota State took an early 2-0 lead over the Huskies in the second inning before scoring three in the third going up 5-0. St. Cloud State got two back in the top of the fourth as Maggie Fitzgerald sent up a sacrifice fly giving the opportunity for Holly Weinberger and Raven Vanden Langenberg to score to make it a three-run game. The Mavericks answered with two more runs in the bottom of the fourth going up 7-2 over SCSU. St. Cloud State was unable to generate any more runs to fall in game one.
Lauren Kirchberg threw well in relief, striking out six batters in 3.0 innings pitched with two earned runs. Fitzgerald tallied two RBIs in St. Cloud State's loss.
GAME TWO: ST. CLOUD STATE (4) VS MINNESOTA STATE (5)
After leading 3-2, two errors in the bottom of the fifth pushed Minnesota State past St. Cloud State. The Huskies got an early 2-0 lead in the first inning. Positioned on third base, Weinberger was able to tag up and head home after a sacrifice fly out by Vanden Langenberg. An RBI single up the middle by Fitzgerald sent Jasmin Estrada home for the 2-0 lead. Minnesota State would get one back in the first. In the fourth, Madison Spah increased the lead 3-1 off Tenley Quesnell's RBI single. The bottom of the fifth proved to be the turning point for the Mavericks as they added three runs jumping ahead 5-3 over SCSU. The Huskies cut it back to a one-run game in the top of the sixth as Weinberger singled down the right field line sending Sydney Trees home. With two on the base and two outs, SCSU had the opportunity to jump ahead but went down swinging ending the inning.
