
Fitzgerald Breaks Career Walks Record, St. Cloud State Softball Outscores Golden Bears 21-3 in Sunday Sweep

Huskies defeat CSP 8-3 in game one, earn 11-0 (5 innings) shutout win in game two
GAME ONE: ST. CLOUD STATE 10, CONCORDIA-ST. PAUL 3
CSP jumped out to an early 2-0 lead after a two-run home run in the top of the first inning, but the Huskies cut the lead in half after a sacrifice fly from senior infielder Maggie Fitzgerald (Oak Lawn, Ill.) plated the first SCSU run of the day.
In the bottom of the fourth, the Huskies added four runs to take its first lead of the day. Sophomore infielder Brooke Holmes (Savage, Minn.) hit a two-run home run and senior catcher/outfielder Reese Holzhueter (Shakopee, Minn.) hit a 2-RBI triple. SCSU scored three more runs to extend its lead to 9-3 with a 2-RBI triple from redshirt freshman utility Kaylee Collins (Lakeville, Minn.) and a sacrifice fly from senior utility Rainna Stangle (Sartell, Minn.). The Huskies plated their final run in the bottom of the sixth with another sacrifice fly from Fitzgerald.
Fitzgerald drew a walk, breaking her tie with Morgan Emmans (2016- 19) to become the program's career leader with 91.

- Holzhueter became the first Husky to record a 4+ hit game this season and the first to hit 2+ triples in a game. She leads the team in multi-hit games (17) and extended her hitting streak to six. She posted her seventh multi-RBI game of the season which is tied for second most on the team. She hit her fourth and fifth triples of the season to extend her team lead.
- Frechette recorded her fourth multi-hit game of the season and extended her on-base streak to six games. She stole her 10th and 11th bases of the season, tying the team lead.
- Holmes posted her team-leading 10th multi-RBI game of the season. She hit her team-leading 7th home run of the season.
- Fiztgerald walked for the 91st time of her career breaking her tie with Morgan Emmans (2016- 19) to become the program's career leader. She became the first Husky to hit 2+ sacrifice flies in a game this season. She recorded her sixth multi-RBI game of the season.
- Collins tallied her first 3+ RBI game of the season and hit her second triple of the season.
- Clark retied the team lead for wins (12) and logged her team leading 21st appearance and 20th start.
- Porter lowered her season ERA to 1.58.
SCSU took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning after Holmes and sophomore catcher/infielder Bethany Weiss (Forest Lake, Minn.) each drove in a run. The Huskies added six more runs in the bottom of the second inning. Sophomore outfielder Bree Beck (Lakeville, Minn.) bunted a run home, Fitzgerald hit a 2-RBI single, junior infielder Sydney Roe (Davenport, Iowa) hit an RBI-single, Holmes hit a sacrifice fly and and Weiss hit an RBI-single. The Huskies added their final three runs in the bottom of the third after Holzhueter stole home and Fitzgerald hit a two-run home run.

- Honeycutt recorded her first career multi-hit game.
- Weiss tallied her 13th multi-hit game of the season, which ranks third on the team.
