Huskies eye fifth straight win
St. Cloud, MN. – No. 13 St. Cloud State Wrestling (12-2, 5-0 NSIC) return to Halenbeck Hall on Thursday, January 22 as they dual against No. 19 UMary. The dual is set to begin at 7:00 p.m.

Last Time Out
St. Cloud State resumed conference play this weekend as they traveled to Marshall, MN. for a dual against Southwest Minnesota State.
No. 13 Huskies Shutout Mustangs in 46-0 Win- January 17, 2026
St. Cloud State got on the board early as the Mustangs forfeit at 285. Austin Grzywinski extended the lead to 10-0 as three takedowns and two reversals powered him to an 11-3 major decision.
Mason Mills came away with a 15-8 decision at 133 before Rowdy Neighbor tacked on a 20-2 tech fall. Neighbor came away with 12 nearfall points in his bout.
With the lead at 18-0, Jeroen Smith added another four points with a 17-7 major decision. A second period takedown and riding time propelled Patrick Kubisa to a 5-1 decision as the Huskies continued to roll.
SCSU really put the dual out of reach as Colton Bornholdt and Brody Hart each came away with falls before Brenden Heying added an 18-1 tech fall.
Nathan Fury closed out the match with a 15-5 major decision as SCSU completed the shutout over Southwest Minnesota State in the 46-0 victory.

NWCA Poll
St. Cloud State enters this week ranked 13th in the latest NWCA Poll. SCSU started the year ranked eighth and currently hold three ranked wrestlers.
The individuals who are ranked for the Huskies are as follows:
157 Pounds- No. 2 Joel Jesuroga (12-0, 7-0 vs NSIC, 2-0 vs ranked), seven bonus point wins (five major decisions, two tech falls)
174 Pounds- No. 14 Bryce Dagel (8-2, 4-0 vs NSIC, 1-2 vs ranked), six bonus point wins (two major decision, one tech fall, three falls)
184 Pounds- No. 4 Cole Glazier (11-0, 5-0 vs NSIC, 1-0 vs ranked), eight bonus point wins (two major decision, four tech falls, two falls)
Double Glazier
With the turnover of the new year, the Huskies added a second Glazier to their roster in Zach Glazier. After serving as a volunteer assistant coach for the first semester, Glazier will be returning to the mat. He is the brother of 184-pounder Cole Glazier. Prior to SCSU, Zach wrestled at Iowa and South Dakota State where he was a two-time NCAA Qualifier at the Division I level wrestling at 197-pounds. He was the Runner-Up at the Big Ten Championships in 2024 and finished third at the Big 12 Championships in 2025. Glazier has yet to wrestle for SCSU but will be competing at 285.
NSIC Wrestler of the Week
Following his title at the Worthington Open this past weekend, redshirt junior 165-pounder Gabriel Smith would be named NSIC Wrestler of the Week.
Smith would reach the championship after winning by tech fall in three of his first four bouts. His lone win that was not a tech fall was a 13-4 major decision against Logan Butzon of Augustana. In the final, Smith faced off against Carson Turnis of Morningside where a first period takedown propelled him to a 4-1 win. Throughout his title run, Smith would outscore his opponents 72-15 and did not get taken down throughout the tournament.
Smith is the second Husky to be named NSIC Wrestler of the Week this season joining Dominic Ducato who earned the honor in November.
300 Rise of an Empire
With the Huskies win over SMSU this weekend, Head Coach Steve Costanzo is now two wins away from reaching 300 career wins at St. Cloud State. The program's all-time winningest coach holds a record of 298-33 during his 20 years at SCSU. Costanzo is 131-11 in conference duals during his tenure.
Series History
Thursday's dual against UMary will be the 22nd dual between the programs with the Huskies holding a perfect 21-0 record over the Marauders. The teams faced off earlier in the NWCA National Duals where SCSU came out victorious.

In the fifth-place match, SCSU would again face a familiar foe in the UMary Marauders.
Through the first four matches, the two teams split victories with each team earning a decision and major decision. Ethan Bast used a third period takedown to secure a 6-2 decision to put St. Cloud State on the board. Jayce Luna would follow at 141 where a nine-point first period propelled him to a 12-2 major decision.
With the score tied 7-7, No. 2 Joel Jesuorga cruised to a 14-5 major decision where he scored four takedowns. Moving to 165, Gabriel Smith produced a 3-0 shutout with a first period takedown leading the way.
St. Cloud State now led 14-7 before No. 14 Bryce Dagel tacked on six points after pinning Wyatt Elam. Dominic Mann captured a 10-6 decision at 184 as a late takedown sealed his victory.
Tyson Meyer neared a tech fall, but would ultimately walk away with a 17-4 major decision. UMary would forfeit at 285 as the Huskies came away with a 33-7 victory in their final match in Cedar Falls.

Scouting UMary
The UMary Marauders come into this dual holding an 8-2 record with a 4-0 mark in NSIC duals and are ranked No. 19. They have beaten Minot State, Northern State, Jamestown, and Southwest Minnesota State in conference. The Marauders notably beat No. 12 Grand Valley State and No. 6 Tiffin during the NWCA National Duals as they placed sixth. UMary is coming off a 2024-25 season where they went 7-7 and placed fourth at Super Region V. The Marauders qualified five to the NCAA Tournament where they produced three All-Americans and finish sixth. UMary came into this season projected to finish fourth in the NSIC and were ranked 14th.
UMary currently holds four ranked wrestlers in Jacob Strausbaugh (No. 7, 133), Sean Solis (No. 11, 141), Kaden Renner (No. 15, 157), and Luke Tweeton (No. 4, 285). Strausbaugh is a true freshman. Solis went 28-7 last year and was a third place All-American. Renner was a seventh-place All-American last season while Tweeton is a three-time NCAA Qualifier and a one-time All-American (8th 2024).
Head Coach Adam Aho enters his 13th season with the Marauders in the 2025-26 season.
