Franks Pitches Shutout in 3-0 Win over Northwest Missouri State

Rochester, Minn. -- St. Cloud State University sophomore pitcher Kelly Franks (Stevens Point, Wis.) threw a complete game shutout and the Huskies posted a 3-0 win over Northwest Missouri State University in the NSIC/MIAA Crossover Tournament played in Rochester, Minn.
St. Cloud State evened its record to 3-3 on the season. Northwest Missouri State is 7-2. The Huskies will play Lindenwood University at 10 a.m. Saturday and Minnesota State University, Mankato at 2 p.m.
Franks gave up four hits, struck out 11 batters and gave up five walks. She is 3-2 this season.
Junior left fielder Stephanie Roan (St. Charles, Ill.) was two-for-three at the plate and led off the third inning with a solo shot to give the Huskies a 1-0 lead.
The Huyskies scored twice in the fifth inning. Senior Danielle Rahn (Orono) scored on an error. First year center fielder Taylor Thomas (Fontana, Calif.) hit a home run and was one-for-three. Thomas has a hit in every game this season and has hit a home run in each of the last four games.
The Huskies scored three runs on five hits and didn't have any errors. Northwest Missouri State had four hits and one error.
