SCSU Huskies Go 0-2 on First Day of Kelly Laas Invite

St. Cloud, Minn. – The St. Cloud State softball team opened the 2015 Kelly Laas Memorial Invite today. The Huskies fell to the University of Central Missouri 1-4 and Emporia State 2-8 .
St. Cloud State falls to 2-5 this season and 0-2 at home.
Central Missouri 4, SCSU 1 Recap
Jessica Goerger (Mankato, Minn.) doubled in the third inning allowing Abby Bunnell (Maple Grove, Minn.) to score for the Huskies. Goerger finished with three at bats, one hit, and led all players with 11 putouts.
Taylor Thomas (Fontana, Calif.) went two for three from the plate.
St. Cloud State's Kelly Franks (Stevens Point, Wis.) pitched five innings for the Huskies. Franks struck out five batters and walked three.
Central Missouri scored two runs in the six and two in the seventh. Carlie Rose finished with a home run and was three-for-three from the plate.
Emporia State 8, SCSU 2 Recap
St. Cloud State scored two in the fifth, Taylor Thomas (Fontana, Calif.) with a double and two rbi's.
Alyssa Coletto (Aurora, Ill.) recorded a team-high five putouts.
