Huskies track and field completes NSIC/U.S. Bank Indoor Championships

Mankato, Minn. – The St. Cloud State men's and women's indoor track and field teams finished the 2015 NSIC/U.S. Bank Indoor Championships in fifth and seventh place respectively. The competition took place on the campus of Minnesota State University.
The men compiled 45 points for a fifth place finish and Minnesota State University won the team title with 163 points. The women's team finished in seventh place with 37 points and the University of Mary won the championship with 142 points.

Women's results:
In day two competition, sophomore Patience Yalartai (Bloomington, Minn.) placed third in the triple jump with a leap of 39-05.25
Senior Becky Schmidt (White Bear Lake, Minn.) finished with a pair of sixth place finishes. She was sixth in the 60 meter dash in 7.82 and followed that up with a sixth place finish in the 200 meters in 25.38.
Sophomore Jasmine Grant (Surrey, Canada) was sixth in the 400 meter run in a time of 58.61.
The women's 4x400 relay gained points with an eighth place finish in a time of 4:02.86.
Men's results:
Sophomore sprinter JoVonte Suber (St. Louis, Mo.) ran to a second place finish in the 400 meters with his time of 49.28.
Junior Ryan Johnson (Amery, Wis.) had his second top four finish of the championships as he place third in the shot put with a throw of 53-06.50. He was third in the weight throw in first day competition.
Sophomore Keyshawn Davis (Milwaukee, Wis.) finished fifth in the triple jump with a leap of 46-00.00. He also had a second place finish in the long jump in day one competition.
First-year Isaiah Pitchford (Waukesha, Wis.) placed fifth in the 400 meters in 50.60.
In the 200 meters first-year JT Butler (Montgomery, Minn.) ran the race in 22.41 to place seventh.
