SCSU took a 1-0 lead in the opening inning with junior Alyssa Coletto scoring on a pass ball.
The Warriors would answer and take the lead with three runs in the top of the second inning.
SCSU wrestled the lead back in the bottom of the frame in crossing the plate three times. Wold doubled and scored on freshman Morgan Emmans double. Senior Taige Puetz drove in Emmans with her RBI single. Coletto drove in the final run of the inning with a sacrifice fly.
The Huskies' offense exploded for five runs in the bottom of the fourth inning. Puetz reached on a fielding error and took second on junior Abby Bunnell's bunt single. A double steal moved both runners up a base. Junior Rebecca Harps then roped a single to plate Puetz. Junior Jessica Goerger followed with an RBI single. Senior Tricia DeBoer plated another with her ground out. Wold followed with her first career home run to drive in the final tally of the frame.
Nyack drew a run closer in the top of the fifth inning on a Meghan Richards home run.
SCSU answered with two runs in the bottom of the frame to make the score 11-4 with DeBoer driving in one with a bunt single and the other run coming in on run down play.
Nyack scored a pair of runs in the top of the seventh inning to make the final score 11-6.
Senior Senna Francesconi (5-4) was the story in the second game in throwing a one-hit shutout. She allowed just three base runners while also recording seven strikeouts. The complete game shutout was the first of her Huskies' career.
SCSU scored first with a run in the second inning. Goerger singled to start the frame, moved to second on a base hit from DeBoer, then to third on fly out before scoring on sophomore Libby Bingham's RBI ground out.
The score remained 1-0 until the Huskies added a pair to the lead in the fifth inning on a fielding error from the Raiders and an RBI sacrifice fly from Harps.
St. Cloud State completed the scoring and added an insurance run in the top of the seventh inning with Puetz scoring on a fielding error.
The lone hit allowed by Francesconi came to Maddie Schafer to lead off the second inning.
St. Cloud State now returns home and will next take the field on March 22 as the team opens Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) play by hosting University of Minnesota Duluth for a doubleheader starting at 1 p.m.
