SCSU softball to host games in the Husky Dome on April 6 & 7

The St. Cloud State softball team will host a pair of NSIC doubleheaders in the Husky Dome on April 6 and April 7. SCSU kicks off the weekend with a 1 p.m. twinbill against defending national champions Minnesota State Mankato on Friday, April 6.

The Huskies will wrap up the weekend of softball in the Dome with another NSIC doubleheader against Concordia-St. Paul at 8 a.m. on Saturday, April 7. Both games are being played in the Husky Dome due to field conditions in Mankato and St. Paul - the originally scheduled sites for these games.

SCSU Softball Notebook:

SCSU is 20-9, 6-2 NSIC in 2018. Minnesota State, Mankato is 22-8, 3-3 NSIC and Concordia-St. Paul is 17-13, 2-6 NSIC.
The Huskies are fresh from a split against Northern State (W, 2-1 and L, 6-2) on Wednesday, April 4 in the Husky Dome.
SCSU has played 14 games in the Husky Dome in 2018, and the Huskies could potentially play home dates inside the Dome on April 11 vs. BSU, April 14 vs. Winona and April 15 vs. Upper Iowa.
Maya Keating leads SCSU with a .400 batting average, 40 hits and 26 runs in 2018.
Morgan Emmans paces the Huskies with six homers, 12 doubles and 36 RBIs this season.
Versatile Kyle Thomsen is batting a solid .391 with 25 hits, nine doubles and two homers. She is also SCSU's top pitcher with a 2.58 ERA and an 11-3 record. Of note, Kate Kopeck is SCSU's strikeout leader with 67 in 2018.
SCSU is currently in 4th place in the NSIC standings at 6-2, while MSU is in eighth place at 3-3 and CSP is in 12th place at 2-6.
