ST. CLOUD, MINN. – As per usual, the spring season as flown by for the St. Cloud State University softball team. After a month of rescheduling, site reversals and days in a dome, St. Cloud State has finally reached the final week of the 2019 regular season. The Huskies will open the final stretch in fashion, as they play in their final road doubleheader of the regular season on Wednesday when they take on Northern State at 2 and 4 p.m. in Aberdeen, South Dakota.
This will be the third consecutive road series for St. Cloud State, as the Huskies just completed a road trip to Upper Iowa and Winona State. That road trip didn't go so well for St. Cloud State, as the team posted a 1-3 record with two losses to the No. 7 Warriors to close out the trip on Saturday
That being said, the Huskies are looking to rebound in their doubleheader against the Wolves, who are currently 10-14 in NSIC play and on the outside looking in, in terms of the conference tournament.
Live stats will be available for Wednesday's doubleheader and score updates will be made when available on the team's official Twitter account (@SCSUHUSKIES_SB).
Here are the five things to know before Wednesday's final road doubleheader of the regular season:
1-2: Last season, St. Cloud State posted a 1-2 record against Northern State, as the Wolves earned at least one win both in the regular season and in the NSIC tournament. In the two teams regular season doubleheader, the Huskies were able to take game one 2-1 before Northern State won the second game by a score of 6-2. Kate Kopeck (Lumsden, Sask. / Lumsden) was the winning pitcher in the 2-1 duel despite only pitching .2 innings with one strikeout.
12 – St. Cloud State saw its impressive win streak snapped last weekend in its doubleheader against Upper Iowa. The Huskies were able to win 12 consecutive games before the Peacocks managed to salvage a split in their doubleheader in Fayette, Iowa last Friday. St. Cloud State was also ranked in the first Central Regional Poll last week, as the team was ranked No. 8 in the initial poll.
6 – Sophomore Megan Conrads (Lakeville, Minn. / Lakeville) is the definition of a utility player. So far this season, Conrads has played six different positions for the Huskies with appearances at first base, second base, shortstop, left field, center field and right field. The sophomore has played the most innings in right field and at first and has additionally made three appearances as a pinch runner and pinch hitter.

She officially boke Abby Bunnell's school record for single-season stolen bases in the Huskies win over Upper Iowa last Friday and currently ranks second in the NSIC in stolen bases this season.
2.98 – Bowlin isn't the only student-athlete from St. Cloud State stealing bases this season. As a team, the Huskies average 2.98 stolen bases a game, which ranks fifth in the country and tops the NSIC, and have stolen an impressive 145 bases as a team in 2019.
