
St. Cloud State Women’s Soccer Begins NSIC Play with Mary and Minot State

Huskies will travel to face Mary on Friday and Minot State on Sunday
ST. CLOUD, Minn. – St. Cloud State Women's Soccer (1-2-0, 0-0-0 NSIC) begins conference play this weekend, as the Huskies travel to Bismarck and Minot, N.D., in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) matches. St. Cloud State will face Mary (3-0-0, 0-0-0 NSIC) on Friday, Sept. 9 at 3:00 p.m. CT, followed by a visit to Minot to face Minot State (0-1-2, 0-0-0 NSIC) on Sunday, Sept. 11 at Noon CT. A live stream of the matches will be provided on the NSIC Network, with live stats available at the home team's website.
The Huskies are coming off its first win of the season, as a second half flurry of three goals led St. Cloud State to a 4-1 win over Minnesota Duluth on Sept. 2. Four different Huskies found the back of the net in the victory, as senior forward Jenna Dominguez (Geneva, Ill.), sophomore forward Megan Kirby (Navarre, Fla.), redshirt sophomore midfielder Gracie Parsons (Omaha, Neb.) and redshirt senior Emali Ortega Talamantes (Denver, Colo.) all scored in the contest. Additionally, redshirt sophomore goalkeeper Evie Kohn (West Lakeland, Minn.) stopped five shots to earn the first victory of the season for the Huskies.
Mary has opened the season with three consecutive victories, defeating Black Hills State (Aug. 25, 2-0), Montana State Billings (Aug. 27, 2-0) and Emporia State (Sept. 2, 2-1). Minot State enters the weekend with a 0-1-2 mark on the season, tying Black Hills State (Aug. 29, 1-1), before falling to Emporia State (Sept. 4, 5-1) and tying Montana State Billings (Sept. 6, 1-1).
