Huskies three-match winning streak snapped with loss
Orlando, Fla.- St. Cloud State Women's Tennis (4-4, 0-3 NSIC) were defeated by RPI (6-1) 1-6 Thursday afternoon. RPI earned the doubles point with a sweep of all three matches and the Huskies were only able to win one of the six singles matches.
Doubles
St. Cloud State dropped the doubles point, falling in all three matches. In the No. 1 spot, sophomore Maria Paz Aoki (Marcos Paz, Argentina) and sophomore Claudia Muñoz Perez (Tarragona, Spain) suffered a 2-6 defeat. Sophomore Johana Brower (Sioux Falls, S.D.) and freshman Oriana Grott (Warsaw, Poland) lost 3-6 in the No. 2 spot. The duo was in the midst of a three-match winning streak in the No. 2 spot prior to the loss. In the No. 3 spot, senior Olivia Fredrickson (Fridley, Minn.) and sophomore Maria Molitor (Delano, Minn.) were taken down by Masha Karach and Krisia Flores Gonzalez 4-6. The pair was also on a three-match winning streak headed into today's match.
Singles
In Singles play, the Huskies were defeated in 5 of the six matches with all of them coming in straight sets. Brower recorded the only point for the Huskies with a 7-5, 6-1 victory in the No. 5 spot over Sabrina Grewel. Brower has now put together a six match winning streak in singles play and sits at 7-1 on the year with her only loss coming to Mallory Lithun of Minnesota Duluth.

St. Cloud State will return to Minnesota next weekend as they face off against Bemidji State (1-6, 1-2 NSIC). The next six matches for the Huskies will all be conference opponents, so St. Cloud State will look to improve on their 0-3 record in conference play.
