St. Cloud State Softball Drops First MIAA/NSIC Crossover Challenge Matchup

Huskies fall to (RV) Missouri Southern 3-1
JOPLIN, Mo. – St. Cloud State Softball (16-6, 0-0 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference) dropped a 3-1 pitcher's duel to (RV) Missouri Southern Friday afternoon in Joplin in its first game of the weekend in the MIAA/NSIC Crossover Challenge.
Neither team was able to put on run on the board through the first five and a half innings. The Lions tallied three hits in that stretch and held SCSU to just one. In the bottom of the sixth, Missouri Southern (21-7, 3-1 Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association) was the first team to put a big inning together, posting three runs on four hits to take a 3-0 lead into the final inning.
The Huskies responded with one run in the top of the seventh but were unable to extend the game, falling 3-1.

The Huskies continue their play in the MIAA/NSIC Crossover Challenge Saturday with a doubleheader against No. 11 Central Oklahoma. The games are scheduled to begin at 2 and 4 p.m. in Pittsburg, Kan. Links to each coverage option will be available on the SCSU Softball schedule page.

- Krueger set a new season-high for times being hit by a pitch (17). She sits at No. 2 on the single season all-time list and is one short of tying the record. She is also four short of tying the career record of 41.
