ST. CLOUD, Minn. – After a few weeks off following 11 games on the Spring Break Trip from March 6-12, St. Cloud State's softball team (14-7) gets back on the field this week and opens Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) play by hosting Minnesota Duluth (18-5) on Tuesday, March 27, for a doubleheader starting at 2 p.m. at the Husky Dome for Faculty Appreciation Day. The program then travels to play against the University of Mary (9-4) on Friday, March 30 at 10 a.m. at the Air-Support Dome in Minot, N.D. The program finishes the week taking on Minot State (13-8) on Saturday, March 31, beginning at 2 p.m. at the same venue in Minot.

Minnesota Duluth Notables

Minnesota Duluth has won 12 of the team's last 14 games.
The program has eight players that are in double figures in RBIs this season.
Hannah Schmoll leads the team with her .475 batting average.
She also has scored 30 runs with 38 hits and 20 RBIs.
Jessica Bren is hitting .423 with 14 home runs, 33 RBIs and 76 total bases
Valerie Hohol is 8-2 with a 2.75 ERA plus 44 strikeouts in 63.2 innings worked.
Breanna Swint is also 8-2 with a 2.88 ERA and 29 strikeouts in 58.1 innings worked.
Minnesota Duluth leads the all-time series between the two schools by a 59-38 count including three wins over SCSU last season.

The University of Mary Notables

The Marauders have won three straight games coming into the week.
The program's doubleheader against Northern State and Minot State in Minot, N.D. on Saturday, March 24, was cancelled due to travel concerns.
The program starts league play with a doubleheader against Minot State on March 27.
The Marauders have been led by Collen Crutchfield, who is hitting .405 with 15 hits, eight runs, two home runs and nine RBIs.
Paige Matsuki sports a .357 batting average with 11 runs, 15 hits, five doubles, two home runs, 14 RBIs and 26 total bases.
Sarah Thompson leads the pitching staff with a 2-0 record, 3.80 ERA plus 24 strikeouts in 21 innings pitched.
The Huskies are 17-15 all-time against the University of Mary.
The program swept the Marauders last season at home with Megan Hedstrom throwing a perfect game in the first contest.

Minot State Notables

Minot State takes on the University of Mary in the conference doubleheader on Tuesday, March 27, and Minnesota Duluth on Friday, March 30, before welcoming in St. Cloud for a visit.
The program has lost four in a row, but are 9-2 in home contests this season.
Julie Suchan leads the team with her .481 batting average.
She also has 26 hits, 23 runs scored, six doubles, three triples and 16 RBIs.
Tori Zimmermann is hitting .474 with 12 runs, 36 hits, nine doubles, three home runs and 20 RBIs.
The program has five players with batting averages above .330.
The team also has seen eight different players reach double figures in runs scored.
Kylie Patrick is 9-2 with a 4.67 ERA in 66 innings pitched.
Laura Mendez is 4-6 in 69.1 innings thrown.
Minot State leads the all-time series with St. Cloud 9-6.
SCSU went 2-1 against the Beavers last season, but were eliminated by Minot State in the conference tournament by a 9-1 score.

St. Cloud State enters next week on a three-game winning streak after taking the last three contests at the Spring Games.
The program is being led this season by freshman Kylie Thomsen.
Thomsen is the current leader on the squad with her .442 batting average to place seventh in the NSIC.
She has 19 hits, seven doubles and 11 RBIs.
Thomsen also leads the team with her .490 on-base percentage.
She is also the team and conference leader with nine wins to go along with a 2.66 ERA and 68.1 innings thrown.
Sophomore Maya Keating is hitting .431 with 21 runs, 31 hits, seven stolen bases and an on-base percentage of .468.
She is ninth in the league in hitting at .431
Junior Morgan Emmans is hitting .328 with nine doubles, six home runs and 30 RBIs.
She is second in the league in doubles and RBIs, fourth in home runs and sixth in slugging percentage (.750).
Sophomore Alexis Jacobs is second on the team in RBIs with 14.
Freshman Megan Conrads is ranked second in the conference in walks (15).
The Huskies have a team batting average of .330 with 189 hits, 43 doubles, 12 home runs, 116 RBIs, 60 walks, 30 stolen bases and 270 total bases.
The team sports an ERA of 3.47 with 74 strikeouts in 135.1 innings thrown.
The program ranks among the top half of the NSIC in batting average (.330 – 5th), doubles per game (2.00 – 2nd), fielding percentage (.961 – 5th), home runs (0.57 – 8th), on-base percentage (39.7 – 5th), scoring (6.38 – 5th), slugging percentage (47.0 – 5th), stolen bases per game (1.48 – 5th) and win-loss percentage (66.7 – 7th)
