Softball Defeats Trevecca Nazarene, 8-4, to Split on Third Day of Spring Games on Thursday

Clermont, Fla. – St. Cloud State's softball team (11-5) split the team's two games on the third day of the Spring Games in Clermont, Fla. on March 8. The program defeated Trevecca Nazarene (9-5) 8-4 in the first game of the day and fell to Pitt Johnstown (1-5) by a 10-8 score.

Sophomore Maya Keating led the team with her six hits on the day. Freshman Amanda Moncelle totaled three hits. Freshman Megan Conrads had four hits, a home run and three RBIs. Sophomore Anna Roth totaled three hits, a home run and three RBIs. Junior Morgan Emmans picked up three hits and three RBIs

Freshman Kylie Thomsen (8-2) was the game one winner in going the first four innings against Trevecca Nazarene. Junior Kate Kopeck earned a three inning save.

Freshman Emman Murphy (0-1) was tagged with the loss against the Mountain Cats in surrendering four runs in the opening inning.

The Huskies continue play in the Spring Games on Friday, March 9, with two more games. The program takes on Seton Hill at 8 a.m. and Fairmont State at 1 p.m.
